Since the introduction of Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), the practical obstacles facing disabled people are prompting additional investment by many companies. Although organisations have largely adopted the spirit of awareness, many lack the knowledge of how to successfully implement a practical policy. It is often difficult to anticipate the needs of a disabled person, however even a short awareness raising session will enable staff to respond more positively to disabled customers, at the same time improving customer service for everybody.

The Regional Transcription Centre at Anglia Polytechnic University runs awareness sessions for organisations throughout the region. The courses currently on offer include:
