Tarlo Lyons is a leading IT law firm which does not fit the usual mould of the City practice. Established over 70 years ago, the firm recognised in the early 1990s the significance of the new media sector and set out to build a superlative IT law capability.

It now has 26 partners and will this year look for venture capital funding of up to £5 million for Scaffold, a software system that the firm developed to create legal documents interactively. Scaffold helped Tarlo Lyons to win the award for "Most Enterprising Law Firm of the Year" at the "Legal Business" awards, earlier this year.
